Saudi Arabia Plans 50 Hectares of High-Tech Greenhouses in Jazan
Half the land in a farming development announced for Jazan in July is allocated to high-tech greenhouses. The other half is for tropical fruit. In its July 9, 2026 report, the Saudi Press Agency put the whole development at one million square meters, with planned investment above SAR600 million.
The announcement includes climate control and closed-loop irrigation. For a buyer working on a smaller project, the equipment behind those terms is worth a closer look.
Yutuo's website gives one example from a separate Saudi project. Its October 2024 case describes a 90,000-square-meter tomato glass greenhouse with a 6.3-meter ridge and a hot-dip galvanized steel frame. The specification also lists electric shading inside and outside, ventilation, air conditioning, drainage and automatic controls. That is a substantial equipment package to check alongside the greenhouse structure.
Take two hypothetical offers for the same floor area: one includes the frame, glass and roof vents; the other includes cooling, irrigation and controls as well. The prices cover different purchases. Before choosing either, the buyer needs an itemized list showing what will arrive and what still has to be sourced locally.
Yutuo offers glass, PE film and polycarbonate greenhouses, with configurations selected for the project. Buyers can start with the location, crop and planned area, then work through the proposed equipment with the supplier. Installation should be included in that discussion too: confirm whether the agreement covers instructions, on-site technical guidance or other support, and set out the local team's responsibilities in writing.
The Saudi tomato greenhouse specification is available in Yutuo's project section at ytgreenhouses.com.
